Cabrits Dive Centre is located in Portsmouth approx 45 minutes
from Melville Hall Airport (main international airport) and
1 hr North from Roseau (Canefield Airport and Ferry Terminals)
By Air:
From the US:
Dominica’s
main airport is Melville Hall Airport (DOM), on the East
Side of Dominica. American Airlines flies to Dominica daily
from San Juan, Puerto Rico. You can also fly Liat Airlines
and Caribbean Star from throughout the Caribbean.
From Europe: Connections with local carriers
are readily available from nearby island gateways such as Antigua,
Barbados, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St, Maarten
and St. Lucia. These gateways are served by international carriers
including Air Canada, Air France, American Airlines, BWIA,
British Airways, Continental and Lufthansa.
By Water:
There are also daily
ferries from neighboring islands of Martinique and
Guadeloupe. The ferries are operated by L’Express
des Isles and Caribbean Ferries
By Road:
Cabrits Dive Centre
is located on the North West Coast of Dominica, just
outside of Portsmouth. Getting to
Cabrits Dive Centre is a unique experience in and of
itself. Whether you rent a car or hire taxi service
you will travel directly along the edge of the wild,
surging Atlantic Ocean (from Melville Hall) or the
calm, serene Caribbean sea (from Roseau), past banana
plantations and lush rain forests and through small
Dominican villages
If you are
coming from Portsmouth, Calibishie or Melville Hall Airport
Depart Portsmouth in the direction of Roseau
Take the second turn on the left
(about ½ mile
You will drive for about 1/2 mile up a hill, around
the corner and then down the hill!
At the bottom of the hill – take
a right just after the bridge.
There will be a Cabrits Dive Centre
and diver down sign on the edge
of the road
Follow the signs to Cabrits Dive Centre
If you
are coming from Roseau
Travel along the coastal road until you arrive at the
outskirts of Portsmouth.
As you arrive in the town, you will see a large University
on your left; this is Ross University School of Medicine
About 300
yards past the school, you will
take a small turning to the left
(just before the bridge). There
will be a Cabrits Dive Centre
and diver down sign on the edge
of the road
Follow the signs to Cabrits Dive Centre
